We offer a number of services for your tree needs. Please take a moment to review some of these services below.

Tree Rigging & Felling

Removing trees safely with minimal to no damage to the surrounding property takes years of training, experience, skill, and the proper equipment.

Sometimes climbing and removing trees using rope, blocks, and pulleys is the only suitable option. The short video montage highlights some of the work we do.

Emergency Work

Sometimes felling trees is the most efficient and safest option. For example, the tree may be dead or have a structural defect deeming it unsafe to climb. Proper rigging and felling techniques are used when felling a tree.

Sadly trees do fail from time to time. The healthy Spruce tree in the photo to the right and below blew over at a local strata complex after a strong wind storm a number of years ago. In these emergency situations, we will assess the situation, create a removal plan, and work with all parties involved- private, strata, insurance, etc.

Stump Grinding

Stump Grinding is a cost efficient, minimally impactful solution to getting rid of stumps. This is usually the preferred option when underground utilities and/or irrigation systems are nearby. In the left photo the Spruce stump was ground out and the area restored. Normally stumps are ground 6-8" below grade. Depending on the species of plant, poisoning may be suggested to prevent future suckering.

Pruning

Pruning is both a skill and an art. An arborist's role is to prioritize the health of a tree, balancing this with understanding the affects of pruning different trees of different species, and with understanding the desired outcome of a pruned tree with the homeowner. In this respect, communication is key. Some reasons for pruning trees are to maintain general health, aesthetics, function (clearing from roofs, power lines, etc), safety (removing dead/hanging limbs, etc.) and to inhibit/encourage growth (ex. pruning fruit trees to encourage maximum fruit production). Left and Below are some examples of pruning work completed for different purposes.
